I get asked all the time what an example meal plan looks like for me. My current fitness goals are to maintain my current weight and if anything, build a little more muscle. I workout at least 4-5 times a week. Of course, everyone needs their own set of calorie intake and macros will vary depending on your fitness goals!
What does breakfast look like?
My favorite meal of the day is breakfast. I really look forward to my coffee and I love almost all breakfast foods. Oatmeal is a great choice because it holds great macros and, at least for me, keeps me feeling full for a good amount of time. If possible, try to get steel-cut oats. Adding toppings such as cinnamon, fruit, nuts, will help jazz up the taste! Other healthy choices are egg whites, protein pancakes, or whole wheat toast.
What does a morning snack look like?
A great morning snack would be a piece of fruit, yogurt with granola, any type of vegetable, handful of nuts, or a protein shake!
What does lunch look like?
You can’t go wrong with a fruit salad with chicken! Or at least I can’t! Panera Bread has the best fruit salad but you can easily make this on your own! Other options would be any lean meat such as turkey, chicken, fish, and pair it with a vegetable.
What does dinner look like?
A healthy dinner usually or should include a protein, carbohydrate, and vegetable. Depending on what you have eaten previous in the day, your dinner will round out your macros. If you don’t know what macros are, no biggie. Basically if you have been eating high carbs all day, try to avoid or limit your carbs. If you haven’t been eating protein based meals, try to eat a high protein dinner. Other options for protein at dinner are lean hamburger, steak, turkey, and pork. Great carbohydrate choices are potatoes, rice (brown or white), vegetables, or beans.
This is just one example of a day worth of eating. If I get hungry during the day or at night, I usually go for mixed nuts or protein cereal. Special K has a protein cinnamon brown sugar crunch that is petty tasty! I also limit my calorie intake of liquids and try to stick with water. I buy low sugar flavoring to add to the water to not make it so boring! My favorite is the MiO brand with the flavor Lemonade!
Wait, one more thing!!!
Before I close out this blog I wanted to tell y’all about my new EFITZ wireless headphones! These babies provide the most secure fit. I was at the studio the other day and I choreographed a whole dance, leaps and turns included, and they didn’t budge at all! The EFITZ are water-resistant, hands-free, Siri and google assistant compatibility, and has headset control. You can check out the EFITZ website HERE!
